Textbook Recycling Company is a small, independently owned company located in Troy, Idaho where the rolling fields known as the "Palouse" meet the beautiful, timbered Idaho backcountry. In business since 1997, we specialize in buying and selling new and used college textbooks as well as typical trade books.
Having spent many years in academia ourselves, we understand many of the issues affecting higher education. One of the major issues affecting college students today is the exorbitant cost of textbooks and materials used in college courses. Our goal is to provide our customers with an easy and convenient way to sell and purchase college textbooks and trade books of any interest for better prices than what can be found elsewhere.

Very pleased. Would definitely recommend them to anyone. |

I've sent two batches of books back to them and all of the books have been paid out as used even though most of them have never been opened and the covers are perfect. I'm very careful with packing to not have any books shift at all when packed. I won't use them again. I'll go with the company that pays the prices quoted. |

I was very pleased with the service; I sent them over $400 worth of books and they paid me exactly what I was promised. Took them about 3 days to get the books and they paid me the same day they received them. Can't do much better than that. |

Dec 2010 | Great experience, sent them 4 books, they offer price matching, so I did that for two of my books, and they are accredited with the Better Business Bureau so I felt comfortable sending my books to them. Shipping label was through FedEx, and the books got there in two days. I also received about $230 the same day through paypal. |

After three weeks, I called and was informed that 1) the books had never been delivered and there was nothing they could do, 2) they are in the process of changing from the post office to UPS because of SEVERAL missing orders, but 3) some how knew I didn't buy insurance on the package without me saying anything about it first. I got the feeling that they got my books just fine... If you use them, buy insurance no matter what the amount!! |

It worked out in my favor though- got paid more than I was quoted! Pay Pal option is nice and they say they're moving to UPS for shipping which is a good move. Will definitely use again.. |

Sep 2010 | Great site! At first I was uneasy sending in $70 worth of textbooks hoping I would receive the money quoted. I send in to pretty used books that I thought they would certainly deduct from the quoted price. To my surprise, they did not. I got the full quoted amount, and they even reimbursed for the insurance and tracking I put on the package. I was pleasantly surprised and I will definitely use them again. |

Jul 2010 | Sent two brand new, (still in the plastic wrap) books quoted $122.56 for both books. I also purchased delivery confirmation so that I would know when they were delivered. I mailed these books on Saturday, they were delivered on Thursday. I chose PayPal as my payment, so they should have processed the payment in 1 business day. After 1 week of no payment, I emailed the customer service department. I provided the tracking # so they could see that the books were in face delivered. I recieved an e-mail back saying that the books were not delivered. WHAT A SCAM! I have filed a claim with the Idaho BBB. |

A decent buyback site. On the positive side, they have a good web interface and are reasonably quick with payment. Just beware that they're one of those sites that will *never* pay the price they quote for a book in "new" condition. I sent them eight brand new copies of a particular book, extremely carefully packed, and somehow they managed to grade all eight copies as "used". Bottom line: an okay site, but make sure you only consider their "used" price when deciding where to sell your books. |
