Rating: 4 starsRating: 4 starsRating: 4 starsRating: 4 starsRating: 4 stars Mar 2011 I've used this company for several years now, and yes, sometimes my books do get downgraded, even when they are new - but I know that shipping and sometimes less than perfect packing on my part often plays a role in damaging covers and such. They are predictable, timely, and direct deposit is a great pay option. I only wish they used FedEx, not just USPS and UPS. I recommend them.
Rating: 4 starsRating: 4 starsRating: 4 starsRating: 4 starsRating: 4 stars Oct 2010 As a faculty person who often received unsolicited books from publishers - sometimes duplicates of what I have and things I would never have need for, I have found FacultyBooks.com a good source for getting a little money for nothing. So what if the books may be worth more on the open market. They make if conveinent to send them the books and they give me cash in return. It's better than nothing for books sitting around on my bookshelf collecting dust.
Rating: 1 starsRating: 1 starsRating: 1 starsRating: 1 starsRating: 1 stars Sep 2010 They ripped me of for $100. Sent books totalling over $300. They sent check for less than $200. They had "reduced" the value on previous occasions, exactly as what many other reviewers have noted, but this time was rediculous. Claimed they were just following policy. When I asked for compromise, they very vividly said, our policy is more important than your business. More like, "We'd rather cheat you out of $100 and never see you again than work with you." I hope no one ever does business with this company because they are there to use and abuse, and they have all the bases covered with rigid, self-serviing, self-protecting, customer-screwing policies. But they do it with a smile.
Rating: 5 starsRating: 5 starsRating: 5 starsRating: 5 starsRating: 5 stars Jul 2010 It is unfortunate that bookscouter.com hasn't been able to use this site. I have used them repeatedly over the last year and had no real problems. It seems that others have had problems with their prices being downgraded, but as far as I have seen with my sales in the past, even FB's "used" prices have been higher than the competition's. They send you packaging, they pay for shipping, they typically pay the most for books, and they pay by direct deposit (so the money is usually in my acct the day after they RECEIVE the books)!!! For my time and money it doesn't get much easier, or better!!
